You should never wear something you don't like especially if you know how to sew! Thats my motto!
And in that vein, if you don't like how your clothes fit, you should do something about it... AND I DID!
Hello, my name is LaShuan, a beginner sewist! I built my confidence by taking control of my look one garment at a time. This is my journey & I want to take you along.
I call myself a beginner sewist, because I am... well, kinda. I brought my sewing machine in June 2022 & started sewing July 2022. So depending on when you read this I may be far from a beginner.
Motivated by the desire to look the way I feel at all times & inspired by other sewist I decided to begin the journey of learning how to sew & documenting my journey along the way.
Sew... What To Expect?
In this blog I will share all kinds of sewing experiences, answer questions, share video shorts of me self drafting patterns or sewing garments, selecting & discussing fabric options & sharing pattern reviews. I will also include audio clips because sometimes it's just better to hear it! My goal is to share all the information I learned & continue to find helpful during my sewing journey!
My Sewcial Life
My biggest motivation for sewing these days is going out. Whether it be date night, a brunch with my girlfriends, a wine festival, or a friend's birthday celebration... I find myself inspired to curate a look that matches how I feel & where I am going. So I will also share those experiences in my blog so you can see the looks I make in action!
The Firm
I will also introduce you to "The Firm". The Firm are my essential personnel, my sewing machines and dress forms, personified... of course because who doesn't name their sewing machines & dress forms.
